I think I found the perfect, minimalist case for my new iPhone 18 Pro. It’s the Caudabe Veil.
Thickness
The case is 0.35mm thick, which makes it one of the thinnest cases on the market. I’m a fan of thin cases. I’m willing to trade some drop protection (I have AppleCare anyways) for less bulk. While there are thinner cases on the market, a little bit of protection is good.
I’ve dropped my phone from waist high and was lucky it didn’t sustain any real damanage. If you’re looking for a thin case, I think the Veil does a good job of both form and function.

Feel
The tactile grippy feel is where this case really wins. The sides have rounded micro dots which are the nicest grips for a thin case I’ve tried. It’s easy to pick up, latch onto, and grip without fear that the phone will slip through your fingers.
I’ve gone caseless before, especially with older models of the iPhone. My old Titatium iPhone was a beast. I dropped it multiple times and aside from a few scratches, it help up well without a case. But not the new aluminum ones, the iPhone 17s and 18s are just way too slippery to go caseless most of the time.
I find it particularly challenging to grab the phone off a counter or flat surface when it’s lying face down. The dots on this case have solved that issue for me.

Color
Where this case comes up short is with the color options. They only offer 2 colors, Black and Frost, and I ordered both to try them out.
Frost is a disappointment, unless perhaps you have the Silver iPhone. I suspect it would look good on that, but with a Blue or Black iPhone it looks terrible in my opinion.
I was hoping for more transparency, which is what I was expecting after seeing the photos on their website. But that’s not what you’ll get. It really is “frost” so there’s no decepitive advertisitng from Caudabe going on, I just don’t really like it. One a dark phone, it looks like a blend between transparent and white, and it just wasn’t my thing.
My new iPhone 18 Pro is black, so I kept the black case and it looks sharp. I dig it. I just wish they would have made a few more colors like Blue and Orange to match the colors of the other iPhones. I think they missed the boat on the colorways.
Conclusion
This is a top 3 case in my opinion. I think it’s the best minimalist case on the market if thinnest is your ultimate goal. There’s a slight grippy feel to the material, it’s legitimately thin, and the micro dot edges make picking it up and holding it as easy as it gets.
